アーティスト・絵画修復士
イタリア・フィレンツェにて絵画修復と古典絵画技法を学ぶ。テンペラと油彩を組み合わせた、イタリアの古典絵画技法を応用した混合技法を中心に作品を制作する。 保存修復分野では、主に紫外線や赤外線を用いた視覚的調査(写真調査技術)領域を専門とする。

独立行政法人 情報通信研究機構(NICT)より依頼を受け、テラヘルツ分光用イタリア古典絵画調査撮影資料を作成。

フィレンツェ・サン・ロレンツォ教会所蔵
十字架磔刑像(木彫、16世紀) 処置前状態調査および撮影を担当。

Profile
Satoru Hamaya
Artist / Painting Conservator
Studied painting conservation and traditional painting techniques in Florence, Italy.
Creates artworks primarily using a mixed technique of tempera and oil painting.
Through the reproduction of classical paintings and the production of painting material samples, conducts research on painting materials and techniques from the perspectives of both painting practices and optical analysis.
- Graduated from Tama Art University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting (Oil Painting Course).
- Graduated from the “Istituto per l’Arte e il Restauro Palazzo Spinelli,” Course in Conservation of Paintings on Canvas and Wood (Florence, Italy).
- Acquired the professional qualification of Painting Conservator (Regione Toscana, Italy).
- Studied painting conservation under Massimo Seroni (Studio Fortezza, Florence, Italy).
- Studied general photography, including shooting, developing, and printing techniques, under photographer Yasuyuki Matsutani.

Exhibitions and Teaching
Held solo and group exhibitions at galleries and museums in Tokyo. Served as an instructor at art schools.

Conducted condition surveys and conservation support work for corporate and private collections.

Conducted conservation-related photographic surveys for museum collections, including works such as an oil painting on panel by Salvador Dalí.

Conducted pre-conservation condition survey and created photographic documentation of a 17th-century oil painting on wood panel by Lorenzo Lippi, housed in the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Florence (commissioned by Dambra Laboratorio di Restauro, directed by Gabriella Forcucci).

Conducted pre-conservation condition survey and photographic documentation of a 16th-century Crucifixion wooden sculpture, housed in the Basilica of San Lorenzo, Florence.

Created photographic materials of classical Italian paintings for terahertz spectroscopy analysis, commissioned by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT).
